Rayner's Rock has always been one of my all-time favourite dive sites at Aur! Famous for potential pelagic encounters, this was one dive I will not forget.
A couple of us DM trainees guided a group of divers thru a swim-thru at that dive site. Upon reaching the entrance, we went through the rigours of the air and comfort checks before embarking on a worm-your-way-thru the tunnel journey to the other side. I led the way through the snaking path to the lovely surprise that awaited us at the exit.
A gorgeous giant manta, accompanied by lovely cobias on both sides and other little fish, swept right in my path. I turned around and there was no one there! I eagerly sounded my horn to get the attention of the other divers. Upon hindsight, not a wise thing to do the others were still making their way though. *Ouch, knocked me head*, they complained after! :P
I made eye contact with the first fella who emerged from the swim-thru and motioned for him to follow me. We floated behind the Manta Procession advancing slowly into the deep blue beyond. It was truly a magical moment!
